The evidence above is when I participated in Dr. Anita Mitchell's research. The screenshot attached is one of the six documents that I filled out to participate in her research. I think that this competency is a very important skill to have as an entry-level occupational therapy practitioner. I believe that all occupational therapists, new or old, should mentor students, perform research, publish, present, and teach. This helps to continue our profession, by mentoring students, as well as keep current research in our practice so that our clients get the best treatment possible. In my case, I took part in research that will benefit our Occupational Therapy program at UTHSC. I feel that it is also very important to give back to the school and participate in research that could improve the program as well.
