Attached above is a certificate that I received after attending a Saturday course titled "Inter-professional Course in Developmental Disabilities." I was offered to attend this course through the LEND Trainee program that I was a part of during my last Level II Fieldwork experience. I was so grateful to have been offered to attend this course because I learned so much while participating in it, not only about occupational therapy, but also about various other professions and their role in pediatrics. I also feel as if many of the other individuals from other professions learned a lot from me too. In this course, we were seated at small round tables with everyone at those tables representing their different professions. We then were given case scenarios of children with various developmental disabilities and told to discuss answers to questions that we were given according to the child's case. I was able to explain many details related to occupational therapy throughout reviewing these case scenarios as well as answer others' questions related to occupational therapy. I believe that an entry-level practitioner should keep up with their continuing education so that they are considered a lifelong learner. The profession of occupational therapy is always growing and a practitioner should put effort into keeping up with our growing profession so that they are providing their patients with the best and most up-to-date care.
